General Cleaning Tips

Who does not want clean underwear, a clean dress, clean pants and a clean pair of shoes? And who does not want a clean office, a clean bathroom, a clean house and clean surroundings? Everybody desires cleanliness. Unfortunately, not everyone knows the most important cleaning tips.

Cleaning is a tough job and it requires time and dedication. Cleaning enthusiasts may call it a talent but for some who are too busy or too lazy, they consider it a burden. However, whatever you want to call it, tidying up your home is not an easy task especially when you have an entire house to clean. One tip is to start by asking yourself these questions: How much time do I have for cleaning? Where will I start? Whom in the household can I ask for help? What and where are the cleaning materials I will use? Then after deciding and gathering, you can get started.

Your home, no matter how big or small, is your most prized possession. One of the most daunting tasks is making it attractive and presentable. There are many articles in different books, magazines and the internet that can tell you and give you cleaning tips for your home. Once you’ve read them, only then can you decide which techniques will work best for you and your home. Of course, there is no shortcut around cleaning and multitasking should not be an option.

I find the easiest place to start being the laundry and while the washing machine is going, you can start tidying your first room. Clear the clutter, arrange the books and magazines and pick up the trash in every corner. One thing is, only clean one room at a time. Nevertheless, you can also designate an area or a task to every person who will volunteer to help. This will make the cleaning process a whole lot easier and quicker. If you have all the cleaning materials and products ready, know exactly what part to clean and which product to use so it can save you time and energy.

When the tidying up is done, start from the top of the room and move your way down towards the floor. Getting the cobwebs out of the corners of the ceiling and dusting the top shelves first, eliminates the possibility of getting the floor dirty again by falling dust. Also clean one room at a time. You will feel a better feeling of accomplishment and will save time and energy in the long run.

Like your own body, your house needs to be clean and organized all the time. Remember, your home is not only a place where you sleep but also a place where you live. When you walk into someone’s home one of the first things that you notice is whether or not the house is clean. And it’s the first thing other people notice about your home. Plus, a dirty home is more likely to cause illness to those who live in it. Wherever there is dirt and moisture, there is bacteria. By keeping the surfaces that are most likely to support bacteria clean, you are able to give family members a healthier place to live.
